Steve Smith-Eccles gives it to you straight….
Firstly, my apologies for filing my article late this week but I have been a bit busy riding out on Newmarket – followed by a little golfing trip with my old buddies (and blasts from the past) Peter Scudamore, John Francome, and Graham Bradley which makes a nice change, though obviously we still talk racing on our way to the bunkers!

Panama hat at Glorious Goodwood. First things first and my human hero of
the week simply has to be the excellent Richard Hughes, not everybody’s

Another week has gone by in the wonderful world of racing and its not been an easy one for us hacks with precious little worth writing about! That said, we can be a lazy bunch but if you did away (and watch the races) then something always comes up and I certainly have a horse to follow for you if we work on the age old assumption that money really does talk? THIRTEEN SHIVERS looks a horse to keep on the right side of despite being sent off at 100/1 and finishing stone cold last at York on his
